Introduction
Warframe platinum is the main currency that enables you to buy almost everything in the game.
A partial list of what you can buy with platinum (plt) are Weapons, Warframes, Blueprints, Mods, Resources, boosters, slots, prime parts, weapon parts from syndicates, unranked weapons from the Void trader, Arcanes, cosmetics, rushing foundry items and much more.
In this Warframe Platinum guide, we’ll focus on ways to obtain platinum by farming specific items and selling them in the
market to other players.
Trading in Warframe
In order to trade you need to have a minimum Mastery rank of 2 (MR2).
This is not very hard to obtain and you do that by leveling up your warframe and weapons and taking the mastery rank 2 test.
You’ll also need to enable Two Factor Authentication(2FA) which provides an additional level of security to your PC Warframe account.
This is done from your account and as a bonus, you’ll receive a free cosmetic, The Fae Path Ephemera that
leaves a trail of fireflies and forest leaves as you walk (you need to equip it from your Arsenal—>Appearance —>Attachment).
With that said, note that the maximum number of trades allowed per day equals to your mastery rank.
So if you’re MR 8 than you can make up to 8 trades per day, also making trades with the void trader(Baro) will not count as trades.
Where you can trade in Warframe
The most popular place to trade is from your trading post in the clan dojo.
You’ll need to build one or go to someone that already has a clan dojo with a trading post.
The second option is Maroo’s Bazaar on Mars, this relay is a good substitute for trading If you’re new and want to start without a clan dojo.
Method for farming platinum
The general idea is to get worth for sell items by playing the game and then to sell them in the market to other players.
We’ll see different methods that are easy to carry and can give you a small amount of platinum in a short time.
The more you farm for these items the more platinum you’ll have from them.
Orokin derelict vault
Each time you play an Orokin Derelict mission (except for Defense and Assassination) a special vault will be spawned in a random location with a golden door.
When you find the Golden Door you’ll need a unique void key to unlock it, called a Dragon Key.
There are 4 keys and only one can open the door if you success in retrieving the corrupted artifact from the vault
You’ll be reward with a Corrupted mod.
Dragon keys are obtained through the Clan Dojo’s Orokin Lab and you must equip them in your gear.
Each key you equip carries a penalty like slowing you down, less shield, etc..so better to carry only one key and to go with a group of four.
Possible reward mods:
- Blind Rage
- Fleeting Expertise
- Narrow Minded
- Overextended
- Transient Fortitude
Each Corrupted mods sells between 15-30 platinum in the market.
Lua Halls of Ascension
Lua has challenge rooms also known as The Seven Principles or Halls of Ascension which contain hidden puzzles and obstacle courses that lead to a secret treasure room.
If successfully reached to the treasure room at the end, you’ll be rewarded for a unique Drift mod not found anywhere else in the game.
Most of the challenges require speed, timing and agility therefore you need to pick the right warframe for this task.
Here is the rewards list:
- Agility Drift mod for passing the agility test.
- Coaction Drift mod for passing the collaboration test
- Cunning Drift mod for passing the cunning test (market value ~10 platinum)
- Endurance Drift mod for passing the endurance test
- Power Drift mod for passing the power test
- Speed Drift mod for passing the speed test (market value ~15-20 platinum)
- Stealth Drift mod for passing the stealth test
Missions for Lua are unlocked upon completion of The Second Dream quest.
Nightmare mods
These are missions with some difficulty modifier that can be one or two of these:
- No Shields: Player and companion shields are reduced to zero.
- Energy Drain: Players will steadily lose energy at approximately 15 points per second.
- Low Gravity: Gravity is reduced, affects player maneuvers in the air, enemies, and pickups.
- Timer: The mission has a 5-minute timer that will fail the mission if it runs down. Killing enemies will add 5 seconds to the timer.
- Death Detonation: Enemies explode upon death, dealing damage in a small area of effect.
- Health Vampire: Players will lose 1.5 of their maximum health every second; Killing enemies will recover 12.5 of their maximum health for the entire cell. Players cannot die from the effect.
To unlock Nightmare mode on a given planet, You must complete all mission nodes on that planet.
The reward is a Nightmare Mod, which positively affects two stats of a weapon, Warframe, or Companion.
Some of the nightmare mods that may drop and their current market price:
Lethal Torrent, Hammer Shot, Vigor (10-15 plt)
Constitution (15-20 plt)
Blaze, Hammer Shot (40-50 plt)
Acolytes event
This event occurs around once a year and lasts for one week on average.
Acolyte is a mysterious, sinister warrior that you need to hunt down by finding the node on which planet it appears.
You need to deal damage to it over several missions while it switches locations until he’ll be eliminated.
The Acolyte will only drop a mod from their drop table if they left because of receiving enough damage during the mission.

Note that some mods are rare and can give a nice amount of platinum in the market.

Prime parts relics
This is one of the most straight forward methods to get platinum in warframe.
You need to farm relics and then to crack open them for the content.
I wrote about this method in How To Farm Ducat’s post, basically, you do the same but this time you sell the items for platinum instead of ducats.
Some prime parts will worth only 3-4 plt per item (Prime junks), but others can worth much more like Warframes components that
Have a high demand or some prime weapons parts.
By doing void fissure missions you’ll have a stock of prime parts to sell, but their actual platinum value depends on the market demand.
To make the relic valuated and to increase rare items chances, use void traces refinement to flawless or at least exceptional.
Condition Overload
This melee mod is quite rare and can be obtained from Drekar Butcher, Kuva Bombard or Leaping Thrasher with a 0.02
,0.01 and 0.03 droop chance respectively.
It grants up to 120 extra damage per status type currently affecting the target therefore it’s a very powerful one.
This mod sells for around 45 platinum for unranked mod 70 platinum for rank 5.
Veiled Riven mods
Unveiling a riven mod require Kuva cycling and has some risk, also there are times you don’t need the mod
And can sell it as is to make some profit.
Veiled Rifle Riven Mod sells around 60 platinum, Melee from 40 plt and pistol is the lowest staring at 10 plt.

Arcanes
Arcane enhancements grant buffs that can be triggered by achieving certain conditions (damage, hit, etc…) within a mission depends on the type.
One Arcane will be in Rank 0, but you can rank it up by using duplicate unranked Arcanes of the same type as follow:
Rank 0: 1 Arcane
Rank 1: 3 Arcanes (+2)
Rank 2: 6 Arcanes (+3)
Rank 3: 10 Arcanes (+4)
Warframe Arcanes can be obtained by either killing or capturing Eidolon Teralysts, Gantulysts, and Hydrolysts.
Operator Arcanes like Magus or Virtuos Arcanes are purchasable from Quill Onkko (The Quills) and Little Duck (Vox Solaris).
Exodia Arcanes for Zaws are purchasable from Hok for 10,000 Ostron standing upon reaching the rank of Kin.
Pax Arcanes are purchasable from Rude Zuud (Fortuna) for 10,000 Solaris United standing upon reaching the rank of Old Mate.
Few types of arcanes sell well for platinum, here are the most wanted Arcanes to buy and their average start price:
Arcane Energize (110 platinum)
This Arcane Enhancement provides a chance to gain additional energy (up to 40 , 100 Energy, 10m range) for you and nearby allies whenever you pick up an Energy Orb.

Arcane Grace (90 platinum)
This Arcane Enhancement provides a chance (up to 6 , 6 seconds, 4 Effect) whenever the player receives damage to regenerate a percentage of health per second for a short time.

Arcane Guardian (20 platinum)
Arcane Enhancement provides a chance (up to 20 for 20 seconds,600 Effect) whenever the player receives damage to increase the Warframe’s armor for a short time.
15.68 chance to get this arcane from Killing the Eidolon Gantulyst and 11.92 chance from capturing it.
Arcane Barrier (20 platinum)
This Arcane Enhancement provides a chance of up to 4 whenever the player receives damage to instantly restore Warframe Shields.
5 to get this Arcane from Capturing the Eidolon Hydrolyst but not killing it!
Arcane Fury (10 platinum)
Arcane Enhancement that provides a chance(up to 40 for 12 seconds, 120 Effect) upon delivering a critical hit to increase Melee Damage for a short time.
13.76 chance to get this arcane from Killing the Eidolon Hydrolyst and 11.24 chance from capturing it.
Arcane Avenger (8 platinum)
Arcane Enhancement that provides a chance(up to 14 , 8 seconds, 30 Effect) whenever the player receives damage to increase the critical chance of all attacks for a short time.
11.70 chance to get this arcane from Killing the Eidolon Hydrolyst and 11.24 chance from capturing it.
Arcane Strike (7 platinum)
Arcane Enhancement that provides a chance (up to 10 , 12 seconds, 40 Effect) on each hit with any weapon to increase the speed of melee attacks for a short time.
18.25 chance to get this arcane from Killing the Eidolon Gantulyst and 14.63 chance from capturing it.
Arcane Acceleration (6 platinum)
Arcane Enhancement that provides a chance (up to 20 , 6 seconds, 60 Effect) on each critical hit to increase the fire rate of primary weapons for a short time.
10.20 chance to get this arcane from Killing the Eidolon Gantulyst and 9.25 chance from capturing it.
Arcane Momentum (3 platinum)
Arcane Enhancement that provides a chance(up to 40 , 8 seconds, 100 Effect) to increase the Reload Speed on Sniper-type weapons whenever the player achieves a critical Hit.
14.95 chance to get this arcane from Killing the Eidolon Teralyst and 12.05 chance from capturing it.
Arcane Tempo (2 platinum)
Arcane Enhancement that provides a chance (up to 10 , 8 seconds, 60 Effect) to increase Fire Rate on Shotguns for a short time whenever the player achieves a critical Hit.
18.50 chance to get this arcane from Killing the Eidolon Teralyst and 15.689 chance from capturing it.
Ayatan treasures
Normally you use Aytatan Sculptures as a way to extract endo.
Socketing stars into the Aytatan Sculptures increases their endo value.
This is almost the only way to trade endo in the game, therefore a fully socket Aytatan is something you can sell.
Prices range from 5-15 platinum depends on the type, Amber stars also sell for around 3-4 platinum per star.
If you want to get an Ayatan Sculpture, do Maroo’s weekly mission in the Void or Derelict (resetting every Sunday).
When you find the vault you have limited time to pass the lasers and enter into the room to collect an Ayatan Sculpture.
Mod Transmute
Gold mods are rare compared to Bronze (Common) or Silver (Uncommon) mods.
You need to transmute 4 gold mods to create one new rare mod.
If you have a few rare spare mods than you might be able to create worth to sell rare mod from them.
Syndicates mods
Your focus can be on 2-3 syndicates at a time therefore when you reach to maximum level within each syndicate, you can start
Trading with their inventory.
Syndicate weapons, augment mods and archwing weapon parts have a constant demand by players.
For example, Arbiters of Hexis offering at rank 5 has smoke shadow augment for ash that sells for around 12 plt or
Inaros Elemental Sandstorm for 14 plt and the list goes on.
Most augments will cost 25k syndicate standing.
Red Veil has the Rakta Dark Dagger that costs 125k syndicate standing and sells for around 25 platinum.
Using coupons
If you don’t want to farm for platinum or can afford to buy it, you can do this from your DE account.
But before doing so, be aware of the discounts you can get from The Daily Tribute reward system.
When you log for the first time of the day (UTC midnight), you’ll be granted a random reward out of the Daily Tribute reward pool.
In PC-only, the reward pool includes a Platinum discount coupon that ranges from 20 to 75 .
It used to be that rewards are based upon the number of consecutive days on which a player had logged in at least once.
The longer you wait and didn’t play the game, the better the chances of getting a discount.
But there were changes to the system since then and I’m not sure if not logging helps as it used to be.
Also from what I noticed, you don’t need to stop playing the game, just keep the software open (minimized) and log
After a few days to keep a minimum time between logins and there is a chance you’ll get a platinum discount coupon.
Summary
These are not the only ways to farm for platinum, but the most used and easy to follow.
