Chapter 3: Rise and Fall

We continue with our walkthrough on the episodic series of BATIM or Bendy.
The chapter was released on September 28, 2017.
It begins with Henry visits his old workshopJoey Drew Studios” trying to find clues for why he got an invention from his old employer Joe.
In the previous chapter, Henry wakes up in a room looking for his way out.
He then finds Sammy trapped in an inky body and it ends as he tries to escape from Bendy.

Bendy and the Ink Machine Chapter 3 Walkthrough

Leave the Safehouse

Henry wakes up in a room with a poster with the words “sheep songs with Boris the wolf.”
His objective is to leave the safehouse.
In the room, there is a Bendy doll with a ticking clock, a closed chest (that will open later) and a hammock.
Henry leaves the room and starts walking in the hall.
In the main room, he will see Boris sitting near a table tapping with his fingers with a banjo lining on the wall next to it.
To the right of Boris, there is a metal door with a missing lever you need to find to open the door.

Find the Door Lever

Talk to Boris to find the lever, this will quickly lead to the next objective.

Find Soup for Boris

To talk with Boris you’ll need to find 3 Bacon soup cans scattered in the safehouse.
The first will be in the chest back in the bedroom where Henry woke up,
a second can is on a barrel and the third one is on a shelf next to the stove.

Make Boris Soup

Once you have the 3 soup cans head over to the stove in the main room.
You’ll see a pot boiling to make the soup, wait a few seconds until it’s ready.
Go to Boris and press “E” to give him the soup.
In return, Boris will reach for a toolbox and will put it on the table.
When the toolbox is open, there will be a lever inside.

Leave the Safehouse (2)

The tips say to use the lever.
Walk over the metal door and put the missing lever in place (hit “E”).
The door will open and the new objective is to find the exit.

Find a New Exit

As Henry walks in the hallway he will see Boris there as well.
But there is another hallway which is dark and he needs to find some light.
On a table, he will find a flashlight, and while holding it the next objective will show.

Enter the Darkness

With a flashlight in his hand, Henry and Boris are walking into a very dark place.
Henry says to Boris that he will keep the light close to him so he will not get lost.
There is some machine with cogwheels rolling there and Ink dropping from the ceiling.
It will look like Henry and Boris came to another dead end an there is no way out.
Henry will then ask ”You got any ideas, Boris ?”

Talk to Boris

Right after that, Boris will find a way out.
It will be a hole in an opened vent and he will crawl inside. a few seconds later the vent closes and Henry receives his next objective.

Find a New Exit (2)

The door opens and Henry walks to a hall with carton bendy dolls and a huge sign saying “Heavenly Toys”.
It looks likes a dome kind of huge fountain with Ink pouring from the top of it into a small pool.
Henry says “Wow. I don’t remember any of this”.
Climb up the stairs, remember the lever to your Right- don’t pull it yet!
Go through a small hall and into a room.

In the room, you’ll see many small dolls of Bendy and Boris and also a few empty toolboxes.
Also, a lever connected to the first one you just saw with wires,
Between the bookshelves, Henry will find a record in the voice of Shawn Flynn.
He says he painted some of those Bendy dolls and that Henry should get rid of the crooked toys.
Go back to the lever near the stairs and pull it.

Fix the Toy Machine


The tip is to unclog the belt wheels.
You’ll need to find 4 dolls which prevent the belt wheels from spinning.
in the room near the lever, there will be an airplane.
Next, there are 3 dolls blocking on cogwheels with belts that are easy to find in the room (see pictures).
This will open the next objective.

Turn on the Toy Machine

Now that the wheels can spin freely, pull the lever of the power switch in the room.
The bookshelves will move slightly but will be stuck.
Pull the lever a few times until the doorway is cleared.
Henry will be now in Alice Angel’s toy room, there is a banner with the words “she’s quite a gal!”

Walking in the room will cause the lights to turn off and a song with the voice of Alice Angel will play.
On a small screen, you will see Alice Angel’s face.
After maybe 30 seconds, a dressing room door will be highlighted and then Alice will show as some Inky twisted figure.
Dark again and she will say to Henry “I see you there, a new fly in my endless web. Come along now. Let’s see if you’re worthy to walk with angles.”
This is the time for a new objective to show.

Find a New Exit (3)

Two signs on the wall in the hall will show that a crossroad with two paths exists.
One is being marked as “The Demon” and the other “The Angel”.
Henry can only choose one of them. once he chooses a path, the door to the second one will shut.

Taking “The Demon” path, Henry will enter a very inky room with a voice record of Joey Drew.
Joe will talk about his beliefs that can make people succeed, rich and powerful and even as a way to cheat death (positive and silly thought).
If Henry chooses “The Angel”, he will enter a bright Alice Angel themed room with a voice record playing Susie Campbell.
She’s explaining how heartbroken she felt about being replaced as the voice actress for Alice Angel by Allison Pendle.

As Henry leaves the selected room and walks further on, he will see some mist in the hall where he needs to open a door.
A Bendy cutout will jumpscare him and Boris will be waiting there just around the corner.
Henry will say; “Boris! You scared me to death! Don’t suppose you found anything we can use to protect ourselves with ?“
Move on to the new objective.

Arm Yourself

The tip is to take the gent pipe from Boris and use it as a weapon.
Boris will walk to the next room (dolls room) along with Henry where he can find a lever of a door.
The door can open only if both levers are switched at once, so each one of them needs to press on one switch lever.

Open the Storage Exit

Henry should search the room for the second lever while Boris waits at the first one.
In the way, he’ll find a voice record of wally and Thomas.
Wally is a concern with pressure going over 45. Thomas says that this can blow the whole place and that he needs to put an eye on the cage.

Searching for a while and passing a fog cloud in the way, Henry will see a poster of ”the Butcher Gang” , a group of characters from the original Bendy cartoon.
Upon getting close to the poster, a Piper monster will break through it and will begin attacking Henry.
Henry will need to hit him with the gent pipe multiple times in order to finally kill him.
The lever is revealed on the left side if standing against the poster.

Find a New Exit (4)

After finding the lever Henry and Boris will rejoin again where the first switch is located.
Boris will show him the way to an elevator where a statue of Bendy is located.
Once Henry enters the elevator, Alice will begin talking to Henry over the speakers saying:
“You’re’ so interesting .. So different. I have to say I’m an instant fan. Looks like you’ve got a date with an angel!
Come to me now. 
Level nine. Just follow the screams”.

Date with an Angel

Reaching to Level 9, Alice voice says to Henry “There’s a whole twisted world out there”.
Not far, there is a tape from Thomas Connor, the repairman of Joey Drew Studios.
Thomas says that the elevators at the Studio tend to malfunction from time to time and this can ends up in a disaster, so he prefers taking the stairs.
In his voice: “sometimes they open…sometimes they don’t…sometimes they come…sometimes they keep on going to hell and back.”

Climbing up the wide stairs, Boris and Henry will see a door to which has a big statue of Alice Angel above it.
A sign with these words “She’s Quite A Gal !”
The door will open and Boris will run ahead of Henry until they enter a room.
In the room, there will be corpses of Boris clones, tied with straps to standing bads which were probably killed by Twisted Alice.

Alice will begin talking on speakers saying, “Look around.it took so many of them to make me so beautiful. anything less than perfect was left behind” and she continues: “I had to do it. She made me”.
Henry will walk on narrow logs over the inky pool to the other side of the room and the door will then open.
On the way, he will find a record from Susie Campbell, the former actress who used to provide the voice for Alice Angel in the Bendy cartoon, before she was replaced by Allison.
Susie explains how she had lunch with Joey Drew once and described him to be “quite the charmer” , “He even called me Alice” she adds “I liked it”.

He will continue to walk until he reaches a room with a long window of glass seeing the daemon twisted Alice electrocutes a Piper to death.
She will talk about herself and that she will “not let the demon touch me again.”
Then she says to Henry that she’ll spare him and even let him leave the place.
But he will need to do a few “little favors” for her first and he needs to return to the lift to complete them.
A metal shutter will go down hiding the window and a new objective will appear.

Do the Angel’s Bidding

Henry needs to go back to the elevator to get instruction from Alice.
The first is: “My Machines are hungry. gather me some spare parts”.

Take the Wrench

Henry gets a Wrench instead of the Gent Pipe using it to collect the spare parts as Twisted Alice asked.

Collect Three Special Gears

The tips guide Henry to search for the gearboxes on Level K.
Now Ink Demons (Searchers) will rise from the little ink puddles scattered in the building- so be aware!
You’ll also be able to find many Bacon Soup cans scattered around to restore Henry’s health.
One gear will be in Piper’s hands, second on the floor and the 3’rd in a box on the wall.

Along the way, there is a tape with the voice of Wally Franks Where he says, that he sees nothing but angry faces everywhere and if people won’t stat to smile and laugh he will leave. Nothing important here.

Return to the Angel (1)

To finish this task you’ll need to put the gears you found in the dropbox on Level 9.
The box is near the entrance where the big banner with “she’s quite a gal!” is.
If you’re not sure which floor is which, use the elevator when possible.
Alice warns Henry to not die on his way back up.
Bringing Twisted Alice the special gears she then gives Henry his next objective.

Take the Ink Syringe

Alice tells Henry to collect extra thick ink from the Swollen Searchers that makes her sick.
Her advice is to move quietly to catch them.
She also gives him an ink syringe, which can be used for killing Swollen Searchers and collect the thick ink.

Collect Extra Thick Ink

The tip guide is to hunt the Swollen Searchers on Level 11.
You need to kill some of them, but only after killing the one that holds Bendy carton and has thick ink, the task is complete.

Return to the Angel (2)

After collecting enough thick ink from the Swollen Searchers, Henry needs to put the extra thick in the dropbox on Level 9.
Once doing that, Henry will receive a Gent pipe to use as a weapon.

Take the Plunger

Alice will then tell Henry to go out again to look for valve panels.
“Turn the little wheels. then bring me their power cores”
Pick the plunger from the stand to get the next objective.

Collect Three Valve Cores

The tip says that Henry must head to Level P to solve the ink tubes.
Along the way, ink monsters and Swollen Searchers will begin to appear trying to harm Henry.

Tip and Warning: If Henry runs too fast or makes too much noise, Ink Bendy will sometimes appear.
You’ll see the ink over Henry’s face as she approaches nearby.
Henry has to find a Little closet in which he can hide until Ink Bendy leaves.

Finding the valves you’ll be able to get the power cores from the ink tubes.
One valve core is held by Striker and Henry must kill him to open the ink tubes.
Go to the ink tubes and turn one of three small wheels attached to them until they all have the same amount of ink in each of the containers. The fluid has to be according to the 3 small black circles.

Return to the Angel (3)

Upon collecting all of the power cores, Henry needs to put the cores in the dropbox on Level 9.
You’ll be able to use the elevator this time.
Alice is talking in the background while Boris seems very frightened because of the presence of Bendy nearby.
Returning to the dropbox will start a new objective.

Take the Axe

“You see those Grinning Demons? Let’s remove them, shall we? I’ve got just the tool to make this even more enjoyable”
Twisted Alice talks about Grinning Demons which are Bendy Cutouts and give him an Axe for this mission.

Destroy 15 Bendy Cutouts

With the Axe in his hands, Henry must-visit Level K and Heavenly Toys and beware of the ink demon as the tips say.
Use the elevator to reach Level K you’ll need to destroy all 15 cardboard Bendy cutouts.
Approaching to the crossroad where the sign shows The Demon/ The Angel choose the Angel as if choosing the Demon, the Bendy cutout will not count.
After finding and destroying those Bendy cutouts, Alice will talk over the speakers, saying it was fun for her, but Ink Bendy hates it when she destroys his cutouts and Henry better hide now.

Return to the Angel (4)

Henry will need to go back to Level 9, but look out as Bendy is around now.

The Angel’s Wrath

Alice voice speaking about the “disgusting wretches wandered my halls…They’re trying to drag me back to the darkness. Don’t let them take your angle!”
Henry has to kill all of the three Butcher Gang that will come and try to attack him.

Return to the Angel (5)

Alice says “I hate leaving work unfinished! Fortunately, I have you to pick up the pieces”
Henry will need to go to deeper down into the abyss.

Take the Tommy Gun

Alice will give Henry a Tommy gun “firepower” to help him with the task, but only if he chooses “the demon” path room, set the ink toy to the Ink Machine’s shape, and not dying in any of Twisted Alice’s missions. If not she’ll say: “Oops. I forgot. It’s a little hard to get a hold of. Oh well. better luck next time” And the Gun will vanish.

Collect Five Ink Hearts

The tip is to use the lift to descend to the depths.
Henry needs to go down to Level 14 to collect five ink hearts for Alice while avoiding from the Projectionist.
He needs to stay out of his light and to avoid encountering him.
If the Projectionist appears, better to hide in those Little closets Stations until the danger is gone.
In the way, there is a tape with the voice of Norman Polk speaking about the Projectionist nature and how he learns the ins and outs of his studio to avoid them.

Return to the Angel (6)

Henry needs to go back to Twisted Alice on Level 9 and place the ink hearts in the dropbox.
She will tell him to went to the lift as it time to go home.

Return to the Surface

Henry enters the elevator and Alice starts talking about heaven in the background.
She then says:” are you ready to ascend, my little errand boy? The heavens are waiting.”
The elevator goes up while Alice is crying and laughing in the same time.
Suddenly Alice gets angry and says that she won’t let Henry go and steal Boris from her because she needs him.
She needs Boris inside her to become beautiful again.
The elevator is speeding down with sparks sprayed from its cables until it’s crashing on Level S.
Boris is trying to wake up Henry before Alice arrives and the chapter ends.
