About The Anime
Classroom of the Elite is an engaging anime. The story revolves around Kiyotaka Ayanakoji, a quiet student who studies in the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School. It is one of the elite schools in Japan meant for talented young students.
Although Kiyotaka is a bright student, his poor grades in the entrance exam have landed him with the school’s worst group of students. Right at the beginning of the semester, he realizes that this is not like any other regular high school. Instead, it is a highly competitive world with wicked students around.
As the anime progress, we see Kiyotaka getting involved in inter-class politics and unorthodox systems in the school. He even starts personal drama and would do anything to win.
Anime Adaptation
The first season of the anime covers the first 4 volumes of the light novels. Season 1 was first aired in 2017 from July and went on till September.
In the first season, we witness some of the major events happening in Kiyotaka’s life as he enrolls himself in the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School.
The first season came with 12 episodes. In the series, Horikita is seen to play a significant role. Most of the scenes in the anime are different from what is there in the light novels. The creators have put in their ideas in the series to make it better.
Classroom of The Elite Season 2 Release Date
As already mentioned above, the first season which is based on the first 4 volumes of the light novels was released in July 2017. But it ended without announcing anything about the release of the second season.
Fans believe that the anime is not going to be renewed anymore. The biggest possible reason behind this could be Lerche Studio. They are the ones who produced this anime. They are mainly known for producing one-off anime shows.
Some even believe that the anime was released to promote the light novels and therefore, there will be no season 2. If this turns out to be true, then it means they never had any long-term plans for the anime.
Despite the success of the first season, there is no official announcement about season 2. This is disheartening for the fans as they were expecting a second season.
